내용

Act 1 begins at Hardcastles' house in the countryside. Mrs. Hardcastle complains to her husband that they don't leave her country house to see what's new in the city. She says that Hardcastle loves everything she's old, including his ex-wife. Mrs. Hardcastle, she says, was a young woman when she had her first husband's son, Tony, and he was not yet twenty-one...
