Summary
It centers around the suitors of two sisters, each sister being the ward of two men. One suitor, Sganarelle, controls and overwhelms her intended wife Isabella. Another suitor, Sganarelle's older brother Ariste, treats his wife Leonor equally. Ariste eventually succeeds in the relationship she seeks, but Sganarelle fails miserably, and in fact Isabella unwittingly uses him to find her preferred broker, Valere...
