The young princess Iphigenia narrowly escapes death by being sacrificed at the hands of her father, Agamemnon. In her last moments, her goddess Artemis, whom she was to offer her sacrifice to, intervenes, saves her girl by turning her altar's Iphigeneia into her deer, and sends her to the land of the Taurians. Afterwards, she is appointed as the priestess of the Temple of Artemis in Taurica and is entrusted with the terrifying mission of offering sacrifices to foreigners who landed on the shores of King Toas... .
