'English for Hoteliers' consists of twelve parts and a hotel and banquet glossary. This book is designed for the students who need to develop the ability to speak English in various places and situations. Also this book is intended especially for students who are getting ready for job interviews in English for hoteliers. The format and contents of this book are different from other Hotel English books. First, each part is filled with important information, which are worth reading. Second, this book handles many situational cases of hotels including reservation, check-in/check-out, restaurants, guest complaints, etc. Many situations are taken from the latest movies, internet site, and hotel journals, which make the textbooks informative. Remember! If you¡¯re looking for a hotelier job, you have to study about hotel management first, and then you¡¯d better brush up your interview technique. When you get an interview, the first impression is an important factor that determines the outcome of the job interview to become a hotelier. I have received enormous help from friends, colleagues, and students. I heartily thank the reviewers and editors at Daewangsa. I wish to convey my profound gratitude to all of the individuals who have provided feedback, criticism, corrections, and suggestions. I continue to be especially grateful to the thousands of students who have listened to my lectures, questioned my concepts, completed my assignments, and helped me in these and other ways to write this book.
