한국의 역사와 문화에 대한 정확하고 이해할 수 있는 정보를 세계인들에게 소개하기 위한 책이다. 저자는 한국의 긴 역사를 쉽고 간단하게 묘사하려고 노력했으며 중국이나 일본학자와는 다른 역사를 제시했다. 즉 세계가 오해하고 중국이나 일본이 잘못 서술하고 있는 역사의 일부를 사실을 바탕으로 다루었다. 또한, 한국이 유라시아, 중국, 일본과 활발히 교류하고 있는 점과 기발한 문화를 소개를 통해 농업뿐만 아니라 해양활동에서도 한국이 어떻게 발전해 왔는지도 소개한다.
