The Princess of Babylon is a largely unpublished philosophical tale written in 1768 by Voltaire (Francois Marie Arouet, 1694-1778). The story focuses on the handsome and unknown shepherd Amazan and Formo Santa, a Babylonian princess whose love and jealousy make her travel the world. During his travels, Voltaire uses metaphors and adventurous scenes to present basic Enlightenment values to the protagonist and reader.
