카타르항공 워드슈팅 & 센텐스슈팅 이란?

카타르항공에서는 ‘CV-drop’ 합격자에 한해 2차로 면접을 볼 수 있는 기회가 주어진다. 이때 간단한 영어테스트와 구두를 벗고 손끝부터 발끝까지 212cm가 되는지 체크하는 ‘Arm-reach test’ 가 진행 된다. 면접관과 간단한 스몰톡, 그리고 흉터 유무를 체크하는 ’Scar check’ 를 하게 된다.

이후 ‘워드 슈팅’ 혹은 ‘센텐스 슈팅’이 기다리고 있다. 책상 위에 올려진 종이를 뽑아 질문을 읽거나 면접관이 직접 문장이나 단어를 말해주기도 한다. 그러면 질문을 큰 소리로 읽고 자신의 생각을 소신 있게 말하거나, 면접관이 말해주는 것에 답하면 된다.

이에 주의해야 할 점은,
-1분 이상은 답변은 금물, 간단히 핵심만 말할 것.
-모르는 단어는 가늠하지 말고 정확히 물어볼 것. (I’m sorry ma’am, I beg your pardon?)
-되도록 긍정적인 단어와 문장을 말할 것.
-당황하지 말 것. 영어보다 중요한 것은 태도.
-짧게라도 자신의 의견을 말할 것.
-면접관이 중간에 말을 끊더라도 당황하지 말 것. (당신이 자질이 없다기 보다는 어느 정도 평가가 끝났으니 말을 자르는 것이고, 나쁜 것도 좋은 뜻도 아니니 미리 걱정하지 말자)
-아이디어가 없다면 승무원(Cabin Crew)와 연관 지어서 말을 만들 것. (Eg, 여권-승무원에게 꼭 필요한 것, 승무원이 되어 여권에 다양한 국가의 입?출국 도장을 남기고 싶다. 등)
