Summary
Heyst's life is turned upside down when he meets a young woman named Lena, who has run away from her violent and criminal husband. Heyst takes Lena and gives her shelter on her island. The two develop a close relationship, but their idyllic existence is threatened by the arrival of three criminals led by Lena's husband.
As the story progresses, Heyst must confront his past and his relationship with Lena is tested to the limit...
