출간부터 지금까지 어린이 역사책의 기본서로 350만 독자들의 사랑을 받아온 <한국사 편지>를 영문판으로 펴냈다. 영어를 공부하는 독자, 외국인 친구들과 한국사를 공유하고 싶은 독자, 한국의 역사와 문화가 궁금한 외국인 독자까지. 이러한 독자들의 바람에 부응하여 오랜 기간의 준비와 번역, 감수를 거쳐 전5권으로 출간하였다. <한국사 편지>는 엄마가 아이에게 편지를 보내는 형식으로 되어 있다. 영문판 는 원서의 장점을 그대로 담되, 한국의 역사가 친숙하지 않을 영미권 독자들을 고려하여 편지글을 다듬고, 어휘를 조정하였다. 흥미를 돋우는 그림과 사진 자료를 크게 부각했던 각 장의 도입부는 주제를 담은 발췌문이 돋보이도록 간결하게 다시 디자인하였고, 어린이 독자를 위해 본문에 실었던 단어 한자 풀이를 삭제하고, 찾아보기의 단어에 한자를 병기하였다. 더불어 경험이 풍부한 전문 번역가와 원어민의 감수를 거쳐, 완벽한 문장의 3요소인 명확성(lucidity), 간결성(simplicity), 활음조(euphony)를 살린 매끄러운 영문으로 다듬었다.
