업턴 싱클레어는 미국의 소설가이다. 메릴랜드주 볼티모어의 몰락한 명문에서 태어나 16세 때부터 문필활동에 들어갔다. 뉴욕 시립 대학을 졸업하고, 컬럼비아 대학 연구과에 진학하여 창작을 시작, 대학 재학 중에 6편의 소설을 썼다.

Upton Sinclair is an American novelist. He was born into a prestigious family in Baltimore, Maryland, and began writing at the age of 16. After graduating from the City University of New York, he went on to graduate school at Columbia University, where he began his creative writing and wrote six novels while he was in college.
