The Runaway Skyscraper is a science fiction novel by Murray Leinster, first published in the February 22, 1919, issue of Argosy magazine. This story is about a tall building that suddenly starts moving in the air.
The story is set in New York City and revolves around the events surrounding the construction and opening of a massive skyscraper. This skyscraper is unique in that it is designed to be mobile and is equipped with rockets to lift it into the air. The idea is that as cities become more congested, tall buildings can be moved to new locations while avoiding overcrowding in one area.
