Summary
The story centers around Edward Chalmers, a college professor who experiences vivid, uncontrollable visions of the future. While these visions give him a glimpse into the future, they also cause considerable problems, as Chalmers has difficulty distinguishing these visions from present reality.
His predicament becomes more difficult when the vision reveals political and military events with significant implications for the world, leading to an investigation by government agencies. Chalmers must navigate skepticism, distrust, and intrigue as he struggles to deal with the consequences of his unique abilities and the implications of what he uncovers for his personal life and the wider world.
