On the Iron at Big Cloud is a book about railroad life in the Rocky Mountains published in 1911 by Frank L. Packard. The book was inspired by the author's four years in the road engineering department, where he was "digging, blasting, tunneling and securing rights-of-way" before writing.
Frank L. Packard is a Canadian author, especially best known as a crime novelist. One of his most famous works is the series called ¡°The Adventures of Jimmie Dale.¡± The series was serialized in Electric Pulse magazine, a mix of fantasy and crime published from 1914 to 1915. His work tells the story of Jimmie Dale, a rare special agent who fights crime.
