¡°The square pegs¡± is a science fiction short story written by Ray Bradbury and first published in 1948.
In ¡°The Square Pegs,¡± Bradbury tells the story of a group of individuals who are considered misfits or outsiders in society. Metaphorically called ¡°square pegs,¡± these characters do not fit the established norms or expectations of the world around them. Instead, they have unique qualities, perspectives, or abilities that set them apart from others.
The story touches on themes of individuality, non-conformity, and the difficulties faced by those who defy social norms. Bradbury frequently uses these themes to emphasize the importance of embracing diversity and respecting the differences that make each person unique.
Through "The Square Pegs," Bradbury invites readers to reconsider their attitudes toward people who do not fit social molds and to appreciate the value of individuality and authenticity. This story serves as a reminder that sometimes it is the ¡®square pegs¡¯ who make the greatest contribution to society by offering fresh perspectives and pushing boundaries.

Summary
Lisabeth stopped screaming because she was tired. Also, there was this room to consider. There was a vast vibration, like being plunged about in the loud interior of a bell. The room was filled with sighs and murmurs of travel. She was in a rocket. Suddenly she recalled the explosion, the plummeting, the Moon riding by in cool space, the Earth gone. Lisabeth turned to a round window deep and blue as a mountain well.
