Reading Science Fiction Novels in English _ The abysmal invaders by Edmond Hamilton
"The Abysmal Invaders" is a science fiction novel published by Edmond Hamilton in 1929. This work is one of Hamilton's early works, and it is a story that clearly shows his unique imagination and adventurous elements.

The novel is set on Earth in the early 20th century. Suddenly, unknown life forms appear from deep within the Earth and begin to threaten humanity. These 'invaders' are beings from an underground world unknown to humans, and their appearance raises new questions about the history of the Earth and the fate of humanity.

Through this work, Hamilton explores the concept of the 'hollow earth theory', which was innovative at the time. He imaginatively depicts the unknown world inside the Earth and the possibility of intelligent life living there.

The novel depicts humanity's struggle for survival in a tense situation, while effectively conveying the fear and wonder brought about by the encounter with unknown beings. Along with Hamilton's unique adventurous elements, it challenges the limits of humanity and stimulates curiosity about a world we didn't know about.

"The Abysmal Invaders" is a work that allows you to feel the charm of early science fiction literature, and is recommended for readers who want to enjoy imaginative adventure stories. This novel is not only an important work for understanding Hamilton's world of works, but also a valuable example of the development of science fiction in the early 20th century.

Summary
"Other huge shapes galloped past, carrying annihilation and death across the town."

Much of the story, no doubt, we shall never know. Much concerning that staggering, deadly invasion which leapt out upon an unsuspecting world will remain forever hidden by that dark curtain of mystery which screens from us the workings of the unknown. Theories, suggestions, surmises?with these alone can we fill the gaps in our knowledge, and these are valueless. It were better to ignore them entirely, in any history of the thing, and record only the known facts. And such a record begins, inevitably, with the disappearance of Dr. Morton, and with the sensational circumstances surrounding that disappearance.
