On behalf of the 70,000 citizens of Ganghwa county, and all those who love Ganghwayakssuk, I would like to offer my congratulations to the team behind the publication of the book on the production, processing, utilization, and excellent benefits of Ganghwayakssuk grown in the region famous for Artemisia princeps and garlic. Note that Artemisia princeps and garlic also appeared in the tale of the origin of the Han race.
Donguibogam describes Yakssuk as follows: "It has no toxicity, and it is effective against all chronic diseases. It is particularly effective against gyneco­pathy." Since the ancient times, Yakssuk has guarded the health of our people as an important drug in oriental medicine. According to ancient documents, the medicinal effect and quality of Yakssuk produced in Ganghwa were so superior it was presented to the king during the Joseon Dynasty.
The publication of this Ganghwayakssuk book is very meaningful. It contains the results of the research carried out by competent researchers using state-of­the-art equipment. They scientifically validated the effect of Ganghwayakssuk, which was known to have benefits against various diseases in ancient times.
ln addition, Ganghwa county has supported research that validates the excellent benefits of Ganghwayakssuk as part of the New vitality project.
