Lear wanders the stormy heath, descending further into madness, while Gloucester suffers his own downfall, blinded by Edmund¡¯s betrayal. Cordelia returns with the French army to rescue her father, but Lear¡¯s mind remains unstable. Gloucester, now blind, is cared for by his son Edgar, though neither recognizes the other. As the battle between France and England unfolds, Lear and Cordelia are captured. Edmund orders Cordelia¡¯s execution, and Lear, heartbroken, dies cradling her lifeless body. Edgar defeats Edmund, but the tragedy leaves behind devastating losses. The play closes with a somber reflection on betrayal, power, and the darkness within human nature.
