Cossacks(러시아어: Казаки [Kazaki])는 1863년 대중 문학 잡지인 The Russian Messenger에 출판된 Leo Tolstoy의 단편 소설이다. 원래 Young Manhood라고 불렸다. Ivan Turgenev와 노벨상을 수상한 러시아 작가 Ivan Bunin은 모두 이 작품을 극찬했고 Turgenev는 이 작품을 톨스토이의 가장 좋아하는 작품이라고 불렀다. 톨스토이는 1853년 8월에 이 이야기에 대한 작업을 시작했다. 1857년 8월 일리아드를 다시 읽은 후 그는 The Cossacks를 완전히 다시 쓰기로 맹세했다. 1862년 2월 카드에서 크게 지고 난 후 그는 빚을 갚기 위해 소설을 완성했다고 한다. 이 소설은 그의 첫 아이가 태어난 해인 1863년에 출판되었다.
