Summary
When the Edict of Nantes was repealed, Le Panus of Caen, an aristocratic Huguenot family with considerable wealth in Normandy, was deprived of the ancestral lands of Mandeville, Secville, and Creseron that had been inherited from generation to generation. However, with the help of an influential relative at the court of 14-year-old Louis XIV, he is allowed to head to England with his personal possessions unhindered.
