This is a science fiction novel published by Ben Bova in 1962. Benjamin William Bova is an American writer. He has written over 120 science books and science novels. He won the Hugo Award six times as editor of Analog Science Fact & Fiction. He served as president of the Science Fiction Writers of America. He died of pneumonia and stroke caused by COVID-19 in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The novel is a science fiction story about two soldiers stationed in Antarctica who capture a mysterious signal from a distant star. The soldiers, who are also astronomers, try to decipher the message and find out where it came from.
